It's already given that I'm not going to have a celebration on my birthday because my "single" friends either got married or moved back to the Philippines and for the past 4 years that I've been here in Colorado, I've always celebrated my birthday hanging out with them. So anyway, what I didn't expect was not receiving a birthday greeting from my other friends (by other I meant they already have a family)! Geeezzzz...all they needed to do was call me but I guess they forgot that it's my birthday because it coincides with the tax deadline and they were probably busy doing their taxes????!!!! So sad but hey! there were also some people who, for the first time ever, greeted me on my birthday (so I guess I can call it quits?).
Since this blog is now my official diary (that is open to public), I thought of writing down the things that would remind me of my special day - things that I can looked back at after 29 more years :D (emote mode).
First 5 people who greeted me on April 15th, Philippine time:
1. Jay Ocampo (high school classmate and friend)
2. Ojhen Iratay (college classmate and friend)
3. Weng Manzano (my sister)
4. Jen Arizabal (high school classmate and kada)
5. Deng Manzano (my sister)
Things that made me happy:
1. Chatted with Florishel Saligbon (high school classmate, friend and penpal :D) for more than 4 hours
2. Gilberto Santos (high school classmate and friend) posted a shoutout birthday greeting in his yahoo messenger
3. Aimee Nillos and Love Caras (high school classmate and best friends) tried to make excuses for not greeting me first thing in the morning of April 15th so they made it up with me by spending P300 to call me!
4. Janet Cayabyab (my brother's gf who is very close to us) sent me a personalized card (and she did it from scratch, well, it's actually more of a picture, I need to print it to make it look like a card)
5. After doing Mylette Namoc's taxes (always at the last minute!), she shocked me by giving me a huge birthday gift ($200!) - now I have money to take the CPA exams!
6. My mom cooked spag, pancit, etc with the help of some of her friends and invited our neighbors and her friends to celebrate my birthday (without the celebrant of course! my sister emailed me the pix)
7. Called my family in Pinas so that they can greet me (hehehehe...)
8. My mom's birthday wish - for me not to get laid off :D
And here are the things that made me sad :(
1. Anxiously waited for a friend to go online and greet me but it turned out that he forgot it was my birthday (he got online though) :(
2. Answered a phone call from an "obsessed" suitor and annoyed me so much it almost ruined my day (April 15th US time)! (grrrrrrrrrr)
3. Worked until 7pm at Boulder, Colorado (take note, my manager knew it was my birthday! April 15th US time)
4. Ate leftovers for dinner (what a good way to celebrate huh!)
Overall, it was really a HAPPY birthday for me! :)
